Having a technical problem with our website, or got a general enquiry? Take a look at our top twelve FAQs:

1.) I’m being logged out when clicking on links/navigating the site:

We believe the problem that you are experiencing is a problem with Safari. If possible please try using another web browser such as Firefox, Chrome or update to the latest version of Safari.

2.) I’m unable to post on the site (forums/profiles/message):

Having looked into this, we have been able to diagnose that this is a technical issue affecting the site when used with the browser IE9 (Internet Explorer 9). We advise you try another browser while we continue to find a fix for this issue.

3.) I haven’t received my password yet:

Please try adding editors@yougofurther.co.uk to your safe senders list, then reset your password using the "forgotten password" link on www.yougo.co.uk . This password must be accessed within 3 hours otherwise the link will expire. If this happens you will need to request a password again.

If you have still not received a password within 1-2 hours then please email us at support@yougofurther.co.uk with the subject: ‘Added to safe senders list’.

4.) I continue to have registration problems, e.g I can’t confirm my email address, can’t enter my Track details, can’t get past registration pop-up box etc:

Our technical team is currently looking into these problems and we hope to have a solution for you shortly.

In the meantime it may be worth trying to register from a different computer, if you have access to one to see if that works.

5.) I would like to delete my account:

All you need to do is click on to your profile and click edit profile which you can find under your profile picture in a black box. Once you have clicked on this, scroll down and you will see a "Delete account" button. Click on this and follow the instructions.

6.) I’ve deleted my account and would like to re-activate it:

Once your account has been deleted, you are unable to re-activate it. We are currently looking into a fix for this to allow users to de-activate and re-activate their accounts. If you wish to delete your account, please make sure you definitely want to progress with this action.

7.) How do I make a new forum/post a reply:

You will need to click on "Forums" on the home page once you are logged in to yougofurther.

Then choose which section you want to write in.  Once you have selected this, again choose the sub section.  To write in any existing forum, simply click the "reply" button in the top right hand corner of the post.

If you wanted to create a new thread, at the top of your selected forum page you will see a button entitled "write a new post."  Click on this, then you can begin a new thread discussing anything you like.

8.) I’m a deferred applicant, how do I update my UCAS information on yougofurther:

There is currently a fault with the site which prevents us bringing your details through if you are deferred applicant. We hope to have a fix for this technical issue in the near future.

9.) I applied last year, and am now re-applying. How can I update my course details:

If you applied last year and are re-applying again this year, the system will not allow you to update your new course details.

This is something we are currently looking in to and hope to have a resolution for as soon as possible.

10.) I want to report a member:

If you want to report a user because their profile picture is causing offence, a message they’ve sent or something they’ve written in a  forum, all you need to do is click on their name and on their profile above their profile picture click on the “Report User” button. Fill in the pop-up box, sending your message to the yougo Community Manager Giles Ursell. We will then look in to your report and take the necessary action.

Please remember the “Report User” function is for instances where you feel a member of the community is misbehaving in a way they are abusing the yougofurther Member Conduct Policy. For this reason, all reports will be looked in to, but may not be actioned upon.

11.) I want to edit my profile information/profile picture:

Once you have logged in to your account, click “View profile” and then click on “Edit profile.” Fill in every field here and when you’re happy, click “Save changes.

If you are trying to upload a large picture with a high resolution, the profile picture needs to be cropped to make it fit the dimensions of the profile picture template on yougofurther. This is 300 x 200 pixels and remember that when cropping, most packages will crop the picture from the centre.

We suggest that you make sure the part of the picture you want to appear as the profile picture is at the centre of the image you choose to upload. It would be worth cropping your image to this size before you upload it and then it will appear exactly as you want it to.

12.) I have a query about my student finance:

We do not deal with student finance at yougofurther so we cannot give any advice in this specific area. The best thing to do would be to contact student finance directly.

If you continue to experience technical problems with our site, please e-mail support@yougofurther.co.uk and we will ge back to you with a response as soon as possible.
