yougofurther.co.uk is a website for students at or thinking about higher education in the UK. The site enables students to meet new friends, stay in touch with old friends, share student experiences in the forums and students can find information on education matters, show off their talents in show and tell, find a job and get some great help and advice on money issues.

yougofurther.co.uk (yougo.co.uk) is operated by UCAS Media Ltd. By using the yougofurther website, the user is deemed to consent to all terms and conditions set out below.

If you have any questions regarding the terms and conditions, you should contact the Director of Business Development at UCAS Media Ltd, Rosehill, New Barn Lane, Cheltenham, GL52 3LZ.

The job section of the yougofurther website, which is available after you complete your yougofurther registration, is provided by targetjobs.co.uk. By registering for yougofurther you are also registering as a user of targetjobs.co.uk which is a service provided by GTI Specialist Publishers Ltd.

Your current registration will automatically be extended to the targetjobs.co.uk service once you have applied to UCAS and your registration details, including relevant personal data, will be passed to GTI Specialist Publishers Ltd. and held by the company to be used for the purpose of communicating with you in relation to careers advice, job and further study opportunities and for conveying related marketing and advertising solely through the targetjobs.co.uk service.

Your personal data will be held confidentially by GTI Specialist Publishers Ltd and the company will not sell on or allow other organisations to use your data, nor use the information for any purpose other than that specified.

You can, of course, opt out of the targetjobs.co.uk service at any time through the “Edit profile” page, and your registration will be amended accordingly.

When you have submitted your application for a place at university or college, you will be eligible to view parts of yougofurther.co.uk which you will find of interest to your student life in higher education.

In order to populate your personal data, taken from your use of apply, you will be asked for your consent. (See also Privacy Policy).

Eligibility and registration

The yougofurther website is open only to persons who are thinking about higher education, have applied to UCAS and by students currently studying at institutions of higher education in the UK.

To ensure that our website is exclusively for students who meet this criteria, if you are not currently in higher education, we may check with your school or college that you are a student by providing them with information from your yougofurther registration.

By registering for the yougofurther website, you warrant that you understand and agree to these terms and conditions.

By registering you will receive our yougofurther newsletters. We may use the information you register with yougo when you join for research.

That helps us continue to evolve and improve the website however no information which could identify you as an individual will be published.

Current applicants and students in higher education

When you register on the yougofurther website you undertake to provide accurate information about yourself as specified in the registration form.

During the registration process you will be required to select a username, password and screen name. You are responsible for all activities under this username and screen name and for keeping your password secure at all times.

Do not give your password to anybody else. We have the right to withdraw this username and/or screen name if we feel that they are offensive, vulgar or infringe on another’s proprietary rights.

Thinking about going to university

When you register on the yougofurther website you undertake to provide accurate information about yourself as specified in the registration form. During the registration process you will be issued by email a password.

You are responsible for all activities under your name and for keeping your password secure at all times. Do not give your password to anybody else.

By registering, your yougofurther membership will provide you with relevant information from unis and colleges and educational related companies by email, sms or post. This includes:

• timely information about UCAS and higher education in general.
• tailored information direct from universities and colleges to help you research your options.

This could include course information, open day dates or general information about the university or college.

You can of course opt out of receiving this information at any time on your yougo edit profile page under ‘manage communications’.

Member conduct

The yougofurther website is available for your personal, non-commercial use only and may not be used for any illegal or unauthorised purpose.

You are solely responsible for your conduct on site including the posting of images, video clips, text, photos, graphics, links and other content and the posting of comments in the forum, “show and tell” section and to other members of the site.

If we deem any materials to be offensive, unlawful, vulgar, defamatory, fraudulent, threatening or otherwise unsuitable, or if we think they infringe any other proprietary rights, we reserve the right to remove these materials immediately and without obligation.

In order to effectively moderate the yougofurther forums and ensure maximum inclusivity for our members we politely ask that our users communicate in English or Welsh (as per the Welsh Language Act 1993), free from expletives.

We may remove posts in other languages on profile pages or in forums. We retain the right to translate posts in order to understand their content.

yougofurther.co.uk will not be under any obligation to check the accuracy and truthfulness of materials posted onto the site by its members.

UCAS Media Ltd is not responsible to anybody for any statement by other members.

As a member of the yougofurther site you agree to abide by all applicable laws and regulations and you are solely responsible for the actions taken in connection with your account.

In particular, you agree not to:

1. abuse, threaten the rights of others in any way;

2. upload or publish any messages materials which are or may be deemed to be obscene, harmful, racially offensive or discriminatory, unlawful or in any other way objectionable;

3. use other members' personal data other than to establish contact as facilitated by the yougofurther site;

4. submit materials that are unlawful or promote illegal activity or that would violate the property rights or copyright of others;

5. create a false or misleading identity or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity, in order to mislead others as to the identity of the sender or collect information about others. Real names must be used;

6. interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of the yougofurther site by posting any material that contains software viruses or materials aimed at overburdening or impairing the website;

7. attempt to modify or adapt any part of the yougofurther website;

8. disseminate content that infringes on any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, rights of privacy or publicity, or other proprietary right of any party or infringes any intellectual property law or any other applicable law;

9. disseminate unauthorised advertising or promotional materials;

10. interfere with another Member's use and enjoyment of the yougofurther website; nor

11. collect email addresses or other contact information of members;
We will fully cooperate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing us to disclose the identity or locate anyone posting any material in breach of this section.

Proprietary Rights in User Provided Material

yougofurther.co.uk does not claim ownership rights of any materials that you submit or post on to the yougofurther website. After you submit these materials you continue to retain all ownership rights in your materials and continue to have the right to use your materials in any way you choose.

By submitting or displaying your materials on the yougofurther website you grant yougofurther a limited licence to use, modify, publicly perform, publicly display, reproduce, and distribute such materials solely on and through the yougofurther website or in emails to potential new users of the yougo further website.

By reproduction of your materials we include the use of advertising media, largely by email to potential new users to the yougofurther website. Your identity is limited to access by yougofurther.co.uk registered users only.

You confirm that you are the creator of any material you submit for publication on the yougofurther.co.uk website and that you have the permission of any other person depicted in that material to send their image to UCAS Media Ltd for use in accordance with these terms and conditions.

UCAS Media Ltd reserves the right to make minor modifications to your material used by UCAS Media Ltd for marketing purposes and you agree to waive all moral rights to which you may be entitled under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (as amended from time to time) in respect of your material licensed to UCAS Media Ltd under these terms and conditions.

The License you grant to yougofurther is non-exclusive, fully paid and royalty free meaning that yougofurther will not be liable to pay you for any materials that you provide.

Prizes, Competitions & Incentives

UCAS Media Limited will not use data received from the competitions for the purposes of communication, other than to inform prize winners.

Winners will be notified by email or post. Winners' names will be published on the yougofurther website, and you are deemed to have given your consent when you enter the competition.

All competition entries must be made before the specific competition closing date displayed on the website.

No late entries will be accepted. At the option of UCAS Media Limited, the competition entry date may be extended by a period no less than a period of technical downtime falling within control of UCAS Media Limited.

However, UCAS Media Limited aims to provide website services for the majority of the competition or prize draw period.

UCAS Media Limited will not be held responsible for any technical failures beyond its control. No responsibility will be taken for the consequences of actions undertaken to maintain the integrity of the contest including, where appropriate, the cancellation of an entry as a result of the identification of any fraudulent activity in connection with the competition or prize draw.

Once a winner has been chosen all reasonable efforts will be made to notify the winner. In the event of UCAS Media Limited being unable to contact a winner within one calendar month of the draw or competition closing date, another draw will take place or a new competition winner will be identified.

All prizes must be claimed or, where appropriate, redeemed within a period of four months following the date on which the draw took place or the competition result was announced.

T&C’s – Clothes Show Live 2010

yougo Blogger of the year 2010

The finalists must be able to attend Clothes Show Live on Monday 6 December 2010 to attend the live presentation at the Fashion Theatre.

All entries must not exceed 200 words in length and must be fashion related.

Closing date for entries is: 21 November, 2010 (11.59pm).

One winner will be chosen from the finalists on Monday 6 December.

Judges decision is final.

This bursary is open to all 16-21 year olds in the UK.

Only one application per individual.

By completing the bursary application, applicants agree to be bound by the rules and by any other requirements set out in the promotional material.

The placement cost is fully covered, but you will need to cover the cost of your own flights, visas, injections, insurance and spending money. You can extend any placement at extra cost.

NB: Placements are subject to a suitable reference.

By participating in this competition you agree to the following terms and conditions:

PoD reserves the right to approve the winner subject to PoD’s normal application and vetting procedures.

A “Free placement” means that the normal PoD fees (shown on their website) for the placements and durations included in the competition will be waived. The winner will be responsible for other costs including but not limited to flights, visa (if required), immunisations, travel insurance, personal spending, food (depending on the placement).
