yougofurther.co.uk is a student networking site and as such it is necessary for us to collect some personal details about you so that:
• the site is tailored to your needs; and interests
• you can get the most out of the student-networking elements of the site.
Unless we have your permission yougofurther will not send you marketing information from a third party for marketing purposes.
No personally-identifiable information will ever be disclosed to a third party.
Your privacy is under your control and as such you can amend your details at any time and even cancel your membership if you want to.
yougo does not spam
Your application to UCAS for a place of study at institutions of higher education will be the subject of different sets of terms and conditions.
Information Collection
When you register for yougo we collect details such as your name, address and email.
We also ask for other educationally related information such as which subject area you are studying (or would like to study).
Additionally you may, if you wish, fill in a personal profile page with your interests and hobbies.
You can update these at any point.
UCAS applicants
If you have already applied through UCAS and are registering, you will have the option to transfer your details from your UCAS application.
You are free to change and update these details if need be. We have done this in order to make your life easier and leave you with less to fill out, therefore making registration with yougo a quick and easy process.
However any changes you make on yougo further will not be reflected in your UCAS application.
How we use your personal details
We want your experience of yougofurther to be as relevant to you as possible so will use information collected via registration and your profile to personalise the site and any other communication we send to you.
If we have your permission to do so then we may send relevant marketing information from third parties via direct mail, email or SMS.
This information will come from yougofurther, acting on behalf of the advertiser, and we will not disclose your personal information to any third party.
We may use the information you register with yougo when you join for research. That helps us continue to evolve and improve the website however no information which could identify you as an individual will be published.
If you have registered as a user of the jobs section of the website, provided by targetjobs.co.uk, we will share your personal data with GTI Specialist Publishers Ltd (the providers of the TARGETjobs.co.uk service).
Your registration details, including personal data, will be passed to GTI Specialist Publishers Ltd and held by the company to be used for the purpose of communicating with you in relation to careers advice, job and further study opportunities and for conveying related marketing and advertising solely through the targetjobs.co.uk service.
Your personal data will be held confidentially by GTI Specialist Publishers Ltd and the company will not sell on or allow other organisations to use your data, nor use the information for any purpose other than that specified.
You can, of course, opt out of the TARGETjobs.co.uk service at any time through the “Edit profile” page, and your registration will be amended accordingly.
We will disclose your personally identifiable information if we reasonably believe we are required to do so by law, regulation or other government authority or to protect the rights and property of yougo, its affiliates or the public.
We may also cooperate with law enforcement agencies in any official investigation and may disclose your personally identifiable information to the relevant agency in doing so.
If you are thinking of applying to university
By registering, your yougofurther membership will provide you with relevant information from unis and colleges and educational related companies by email, sms or post. This includes:
• timely information about UCAS and higher education in general.
• tailored information direct from universities and colleges to help you research your options. This could include course information, open day dates or general information about the university or college.
You can of course opt out of receiving this information at any time on your yougo edit profile page under ‘manage communications’.
yougofurther.co.uk has teamed up with a number of partners to offer you discounts and special offers via a discount card. These offers may change throughout the year; however we will keep you up to date with this information by email. This information will be held by UCAS Media Ltd, and we may pass on your details to UCAS, who support and manage ‘yougo’.
Your control
All your details are normally controlled by you. Who you share your personal information, including your identity details, with is up to you.
Quotations made by you, posted to the site, will be seen by others.
We do not publish your email address in our email campaigns or anywhere on the website. You can update and change your details as often as you wish. You can also cancel your membership at any time.
Remember that if you choose to share information or post personal information in the public areas (such as the forums and blogs) then this may be used by other people, registered with yougofurther, to send you unsolicited communications.
Please therefore exercise discretion in deciding what information you disclose in these areas.
The security of your information depends on your protection of your account password.
This is important.
Please do not tell anyone else your password.

Your personal profile is only available to registered users in accordance with your personal privacy settings.

Web adverts from third parties will appear on the yougo website although these should be pertinent to your needs, interests and behaviours on the site.
Technical bit
The yougo site uses cookies, which are a standard tool of the internet.
They allow us to store and retrieve login information on a user’s system, help us improve the service of the site and make it easier for you to use.
If you have set up your browser to refuse cookies then you may not be able to make full use of the yougo website.

This privacy policy is effective from 24th November, 2008.
We reserve the right to update this privacy policy at anytime and will tell you of any significant changes on the website.
